I was commissioned to design posters for my school’s Making It visiting artist series. To highlight each speaker’s unique work, I reached out to them directly for permission to feature their art on the posters. The goal was to give students a preview of the artist’s style and spark interest in attending their talk. Each design needed to include the artist’s name, the series title, date and time, website, and full artist statement.
One of the biggest challenges was mastering page layout, as this was my first time working extensively in that format. Balancing large amounts of required text with striking visuals pushed me to think critically about hierarchy, spacing, and composition, ultimately resulting in clean, organized posters that still felt dynamic and engaging.
